Works without internet

Airplane mode, basement office, off the grid — doesn't matter. No internet required after a one-time model download.

Built for every voice.

Whether it's carpal tunnel, RSI, or just thinking faster than you type — your voice shouldn't be slowed down by a keyboard.

Designed for assistive input

Uses macOS Accessibility APIs to place transcribed text exactly at your cursor — the same system-level technology that powers screen readers and switch control.

Relief for repetitive strain

One key press replaces hundreds of keystrokes. Hold to record, release to transcribe — giving your hands a break when typing becomes painful or impossible.

For minds that move faster than hands

Whether it's ADHD, dysgraphia, or stream-of-consciousness thinking — capture your thoughts at the speed you think them, not the speed you type.

Questions? Answers.

How is this different from Mac's built-in dictation?

Hold-to-record gives you walkie-talkie control — hold fn, speak, release, done. Runs 100% locally via Whisper. Your custom vocabulary is recognized on the fly, filler words are stripped automatically, and you get full transcription history with stats.

What about my privacy?

Your audio never leaves your Mac. No cloud processing, no analytics, no telemetry, no account required. We can't access your data even if we wanted to.

Is this an accessibility tool?

Yes. Push to Transcribe is an assistive input method for anyone who can't or prefers not to type. It uses macOS Accessibility APIs to place transcribed text at your cursor — the same system-level capability that powers screen readers and switch control. Whether you have RSI, carpal tunnel, motor impairments, or simply think faster than you type, it's built for you.

Does it really work offline?

Yes. After the initial model download (~547 MB for the default Large v3 Turbo model), everything runs locally on your Mac. Airplane mode? No problem.

How accurate is the transcription?

Very. The app ships with multiple AI models — from fast lightweight ones to studio-grade large models — so you can pick the right balance of speed and accuracy. Handles accents, technical jargon, and natural conversation with ease.

Can I customize the hotkey?

Yes. The default is the fn key — just hold it to record, release to transcribe. You can change it to any global keyboard shortcut in Settings.

What languages are supported?

The default model is optimized for English. Multilingual models supporting 100+ languages are available to download in Settings.

What Mac do I need?

Any Mac running macOS 15.0 Sequoia or newer. Runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1–M4) and Intel Macs. Apple Silicon offers the fastest transcription.

Can I use it on multiple Macs?

Yes. Your purchase includes a license for all your personal Macs. Use it on your MacBook, iMac, Mac Studio — no extra charge.

Is there a subscription?

No. $19.99 once, yours forever. No recurring charges, no usage limits, no upsells. Free updates included. Start with a 3-day free trial.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Download and use Push to Transcribe free for 3 days - no credit card, no signup. After the trial, purchase a license key for $19.99 to continue.
